Critical incident stress debriefing (CSID) is also known as the Mitchell model.
It is a structured group discussion designed to address the psychological impact of critical incidents. A critical incident could be:
A death in service
A homicide or accident at work.
A terror attack
An incident with a member of the public at the workplace.
CISD aims to mitigate acute symptoms, access the need for a follow up and provide a sense of post crisis psychological closure. The model is a 7 phase structure, which follows a specific sequence of phases during the group discussion. Individuals include witnesses, first responders and survivors.
I am able to provide on site or remote support to groups and individuals.
